During the peak tourist season (May through October), it is worth booking ahead as it can be difficult to find a place to stay. No accommodation is available in the park itself, but there are options nearby.

Gouldings Lodge is the closest accommodation available to the Valley, located 5 ½ miles from the park entrance. It boasts a swimming pool and the Stagecoach Dining Room. Visitors to the lodge enjoy stunning views of the Valley and spectacular sunrises. Check out the trading post for Navajo jewelery, souvenirs and other goods.

The Firetree Bed and Breakfast is located a few more miles from the Monument Valley entrance. Visitors can stay in a traditional Navajo hogan.

Lodgings can be found north of Monument Valley in Bluff and Mexican Hat, in Utah. 20 miles south of the Valley there are hotels in Kayenta, near the junction of Highway 160 and 163.

Opened November 2008: The View Hotel can be found inside Monument Valley, adjacent to the visitor center. Offering spectacular, up close views of the Mittens, this may be the best place to watch the sun rise and set. The View Hotel was built, and is owned by, the Navajo nation.
